VMAN: The Decades Issue

VMAN paid homage to the evolution of men’s style from decades past for its 24th issue. The editorial depicts iconic trends from as far back as the 1930’s to the present giving us a clear understanding of how men’s fashion has been reinvented and progressed each decade. Some of the most memorable moments of men’s fashion were the flawless suiting of the 30’s to the “rebel without a cause” leather wearing era of the 50’s and let’s not forget the floral wearing hipsters of the 70’s, which are all present trends for today’s modern man. Stylist Tom Van Dorpe didn’t skip a beat with the recreation of these eras using garments from some of the industry’s heavy hitters like Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, DSquared and Prada. The man behind the lens was photographer Benjamin Lennox who did a great job capturing these images and resurrecting the true essence of each time period.

Bromance: Gareth Thomas Models With Christian Louboutin for Les 20 Ans

Gareth Thomas, 6ft 3inches ruby superstar better known as Alfie was honored earlier this year with his own range of sneakers called the Alfie Flats by renowned shoe designer Christian Louboutin. Mr. Thomas is a tyrant on the ruby field winning over 100 caps during his career. Now you are probably wondering how did these two people from different walks of life paired up? This unlikely duo befriended each other after Louboutin learnt of Alfie’s “coming out” story and how it destroyed his marriage driving him to nearly committing suicide.  Since then the two has forged great bond and friendship. Alfie is clearly a fan of the designer’s fashionable footwear. He was once quoted as saying “these days I own more of Louboutin’s shoes than I do rugby boots”. Today Alfie models in the designer’s book, photographed by Philippe Garcia, entitled “Les 20 ans” celebrating Louboutin’s 20th Anniversary. The book features some of Christian Louboutin closes friends who has inspired his creations throughout the years and Thomas definitely fell into that category alongside Dita von Tesse, Mika and Rossy de Palam just to name a few.

Here is the behind-the-scenes video of the Les 20 ans photo shoot
