Poetic Fashion Show Photo Shoot

For the past couple of weeks I have been working diligently with the Gregory Allen Company as stylist putting together looks for a photo shoot and show day for the Poetic Fashion Show. About a week ago we did the photo shoot to exhibit the clothing from some of the designers that will be taking part in the upcoming show this Thursday September 2nd. Shkank Inc., Noir Masae (NM Designs) and the Gregory Allen Company were all part of the pre-show photo shoot. This photo shoot was created as a buffer to the show so that the designers can display their most current pieces. While working behind the scenes, seeing the amazing talent and designs that is being offered makes me even more excited to see their new collection. On the roster for show day are Rod Philip of Shkank (The Grammys, Miss Universe and So You Think You Can Dance), NM Designs, Gregory Allen Company (Toronto LG Fashion Week/Design section Toronto Star) and Sodaliscious Clothing (styled 90210’s Anna Lynne- McCord) who all have to produce 5 new never before seen pieces. Yet again this is a show that you will not want to miss. This Thursday September 2nd come out and join us at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts at 7pm. Tickets are still available online at http://www.stlc.com/ or for pick up contact Amiga Taylor at amigataylor@literatureforlife.org . Here are some photos from the photo shoot to give you idea of the caliber of talent from these designers and what to expect on show day!

Poetic Fashion Show!

Stylus Mag is inviting everyone to come out and support the Poetic Fashion show which will be held on September 2nd 2010. Yours truly will be one of the show’s sponsors and styling the male fashion segment of the show. The show will feature some well known designers along with up and coming Toronto based designers. This is Poetic Fashion’s 2nd year hosting this fashion/talent youth showcase which celebrates the monumental achievements made by extraordinary youth from at-risk communities around Toronto. I became very excited when I was invited to be a part of this event, not only does it cultivate youthful talents it also helps the youth express themselves through Fashion Design, Music, Drama and Spoken Word. So I encourage everyone to come out and support the future designers and artist of tomorrow.

This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Hey Young World!

Summer is winding down and you know what that means parents? Back to school for the kids! Zara the European based store recently release a video to introduce their trendy 2010/2011Fall/Winter looks for the kids. This store always manages to take mature fashion trends and transform them into cool and very fashionable styles for children. Military inspired jackets, “boyfriend” sweaters for girls to some very fashion forward “Heritage“ looks for boys i.e. plaid shirts, fitted jeans paired with military boots. If you have never ventured into this store and shop for your kids let alone for yourself, I highly recommend you start immediately. You will find some great fashionable pieces along with great quality clothing that is moderately priced for babies to teenagers.
